If a bag has the logo LV on it, overlapping later it's real. If it is something simialar than it is fake. LV have patented the logo so it is illegal to use the same logo if it's not made by LV!

when you look at the leather you spit on your finger and touch the leather and if it turns darker consequently it is real!
also the tag would read aloud LOUIS VUITTON MADE IN PARIS

umm, i would own to see it, but i guess ill try to explain well. the suntan strip thing cant be broken, it has to be solid. louis would never do that. if you hold the cherry blossom edition, the pink of the flower should not reveal any brown through it, it should be solid pink. to tell the differnece of leather and pleather, pleather makes a resonance, if that makes sense, when u rub it. leather is more dry than pleather. louis vuitton is alwaus leather. i hope that helps, and make sense. also if u bought it online, check the sellers rating. the higher it is, the better prospect of ur bag b ing real. it should also come near a certificate of authencity.

Here are of late some general tips:
Know its Monogram placement: Louis Vuitton has be in production since 1854! Their style is classic, and quality- phenomenal! The monogram itself can give clues as to authenticity. Louis Vuitton is extraordinarily careful about the route that the monogram is placed on any piece. Most of its styles are the same today as they were when they first come out- with a few exceptions. The actual Louis Vuitton monogram is usually (with the exception of some vintage pieces) symetrical from side to side in adjectives monogram styles (traditional, Multicolore, Cerises, Mini mono, Vernis etc.).
Watch the stitching: Louis Vuitton is very careful next to it's stitching. Stitching should be very even and regular. The same number of stitches will be found in similar locations on similar lots... for example the leather tab that the handle attaches onto on any size monogram Speedy bag will other have 5 regular, even stitches across the top.

It's Louis Vuitton, but usually the LV sign is dimented, or there is none and at hand is only the little flowers. Go to a Bergdorf's or Neiman MArcus, and they can tell you if it's legitimate or not.
