Boring purse, anyways to generate it more interesting, I can't sew or anything?
And plus my mum won't give me any money, so is there anything that I can hold on there without sewing it on?

Use badges on it. Or how roughly speaking a big safety pin, hang bead or charms, from a bracelet or necklace, on it and pin it to your bag. Get some earrings that you only hold one of, or you don't wear anymore and pin the through to decorate it. Iron on patches are cheap, so it you can go and get any money at all, they will be easy to do.
It really depends on the type of backpack. If it is like tote-style, and/or canvas or another "durable" matter, you could do something like gluing on ribbon and rick-rack. Cover the strap next to it or make diagonal stripes across the bag. If it's leather or vinyl or something similar, you probably wouldn't want to gum anything on it, so maybe create some purse charms to attach to the strap with a keychain holder. You can take home the charms with ribbon or twine or hemp etc. and slide on beads, charms from necklaces or bracelets you don't wear anymore, etc. There is also the resort of buttons/pins and patches, which look great especially with a messenger sack. You can just stick them randomly adjectives over, or just to the strap.
yea, you can buy some REALLY nice bag charms, for like three pounds within accessorise, primark etc. they just add a nice little something to your pack that gives it a bit of colour and prettiness.
