What liberal of purse should my bf pass over a black suit?

my bf is joining a business school next monday and you own to be dressed up in a suit/blazer
i was wondering .. if a nice side shoulder bag.. would look better or should he go with a backpack (kinda odd)

A leather messenger bag surrounded by black or dark tan wouldn't be trying too not easy, but it would be fashionable and slick at the same time.
1] ask him his opinion - how much cargo will he be carrying?
If really heavy, I'd go near a backpack - better for your back.
2] my first choice would be a leather or suede messenger bag - but be sure it is big ample for a laptop
3] lots of men in the DC area [ where on earth I live ] use a backpack with suits or uniforms
4] my son carried a messenger pouch for a year, then switched to a backpack because load be too heavy - bothered his back.

A polyethylene briefcase shaped messenger bag. It's not pretentious close to a full leather briefcase but a lot of businessmen nowadays use them

I saw on ten years younger a man who did buisness and ha a black leather side bag- it looks cool and proffessional- and I'm sure thats what your BF wishes to look like.
